I'm on a diet. I've never been on one before, not properly anyway, but the time has definitely come. My baby is 9 months old, and it's clear the baby weight is not simply going to drop off. In fact, what I've been calling baby weight is "using pregnancy and early baby days as an excuse to over indulge" weight.

Having had a good look at what I'm eating when it's pretty obvious where I'm going wrong - the habitual "reward" glass of wine and generous slab of chocolate, the never saying no when offered treats, the creeping portion sizes and the mindless habit of putting things in my mouth as I prepare, serve and clear food.

So I'm going for a tactic of more mindful eating, fewer treats/rewards, smaller portions with more of the stuff I know to be good for me.

She's growing like a weed!

She's growing like a weed!

Ta-da! Today, Mia wore her first 3-6 month outfit!

When we went to the pediatrician for her two month visit, she was
already over 12 lbs. I told her she was going on a diet since she's in
the 75th percentile for weight, height and head circumference. Alright,
I was kidding about that, but she is getting big now.

When we go out, people always say, "Oh look! There's a baby... a TINY
baby!" It always surprises me to hear that because I still remember how
small she was when she was born just two and a half months ago and
think, "When did she get so huge?"

Not long from now, the new clothes ban will have to be lifted and we'll
go shopping for 6-9 month sizes. Just wait until Grandma hears about this!
